We're excited to bring you two great live acts on our final concert Saturday of 2016! We'll be featuring blues musician Charles Wheal, with an opening act by bluegrass maven Jennifer Kitchen of Kitchen Help.
Bassist Jennifer Kitchen and her band Kitchen Help will take the stage by storm at 2pm, playing many traditional bluegrass favorites inspired by the bluegrass mothers and fathers. Each member of the band is an accomplished musician in their own right, and they love frequenting festivals, meeting and befriending as many pickers as possible. This is their first time playing Cleophus Quealy and we're thrilled to welcome them into our little musical family.
Charles Wheal found his love of the blues in Blacksburg, Virginia and has since backed epic musical artists such as James Cotton, Snooky Pryor, Sam Myers, and most famously, harmonica great Mark Hummel. In 2006, he decided to switch gears and focus on his solo career as a guitarist. Influenced by the likes of B.B. King and Jimmy Rogers, his live performances, as well as his recordings, are delivered with passion and focus. Charles and his band can be found playing at all of the best Bay Area clubs, providing a mix of Chicago, Texas, and West coast blues that gets crowds on their feet and keeps them there.
As usual, we'll have 8 taps of beer on tap (including our famous Sweet Henrietta, Coffee Milk Stout!) and delicious food from Canasta Kitchen.
